Welcome to our 9th Edition. In 2009, we started with 175 racers, and have grown to excel at putting on one of the best cross-country mountain bike races Oregon has to offer.
The trail system in Echo began in 2004, and has been developed and expanded over the years to what it is today. The main trail system is open year-round to the public and is (mostly) mapped. Trails that exist through the vineyard, and along the cliffs are NOT open to the public, are not mapped, and we do not have permission to map them.
All of the trails are located on private property, owned by Lloyd and Lois Piercy and Echo West Ranch & Vineyard. The Piercy’s are also the owners and operators of Sno Road Winery, a key sponsor of the Echo Red 2 Red. Please respect private property and leave trails better than you found them. Also, please be aware that the trails are used for cycling, hiking and running, and there may be livestock within the perimeters of the main trail system. At no time are horses or motorized vehicles allowed on the trails.
You are welcome to ride the main trail system, of which maps large maps (none printable) are located both at the trailhead and Echo Bike & Board. Also, all trail segments have milage markers at the start of them.
The Echo Red 2 Red is ran and supported by Echo Bike & Board, along with all of the sponsors and volunteers that help make this event a success from year to year, including the Masonic Lodge of Echo, the Kiwanis Club of Echo, Pendleton on Wheels, and many, many more. Proceeds from this race have gone to the Kiwanis Club of Echo’s scholarship fund, and most recently, helped the local Masonic Lodges purchase bikes for their ‘Bikes for Books’ program to encourage reading in 1st through 6th grade students.
We hope you are planning on being a part of the Echo Red 2 Red that we have devoted years to. We will update the website as the details unfold.
